Date Idea Near White Mountain National Forest

Looking for a weekend date night idea near White Mountain National Forest?

Don’t get me wrong, there are a thousand amazing hikes in these beautiful New Hampshire forests, but it’s not always sunshine and rainbows. Looking for a fun date activity near Gorham, NH?

Got you covered!

Start out your morning at The Bear Taphouse & Cafe. It’s amazinggg and such a local gem. Craft cocktails and local beer on tap with a cozy interior accessible right from Main Street. The best part? They do their darndest to source as many local ingredients as possible and I’ve been in the kitchen while the homemade breads and jams were being made. WHEW what an intoxicating smell. If you don’t eat here while driving the Kancamagus Loop or camping at Dolly Copp, you’re really missing out.

My favorite is the patty melt and hot choclate (especially if they’re not sold out of homemade marshmallows yet). If the avocados are fresh (don’t worry, they’ll tell you!) the Avocado Toast is 10/10. It’s not an in-and-out diner. It’s a sit-down family spot. Plan to spend an hour enjoying your breakfast here!

Want the best news? Right next door is a little pottery studio called The Groggy Rabbit.

Plot twist, you’re on our website already! After the best brunch in the North Country, stay an extra beat and paint some pottery or take a lesson.

We do offer private pottery lessons that you can book in advance, or you can give us a call (or pop in) to see if we have some rainy-day availability. Otherwise, you can checkout the calendar and see if we have any open seats in a group wheel class! We do ship your pieces to you if you’re from out of town as long as you let us know in advance, we can have an estimate of shipping ready for ya. Checkout our current classes here.

Doing a wheel or hand-building class not the vibe? You can always paint some of our handmade pottery instead.

After wrapping up with your potteyr experience here in Gorham, take a little drive through the forest and hit up Emerald Pool, a swimming hole tucked off the beaten path! Cool down in the fresh waters fed by the Peabody River before heading back into town and ending your day with a drink at Big Day Brewing. Bonus points for Saturday nights when they’ve got live music!

See you there!
